The Arriaran reservoir is built using conventional concrete. The reservoir is 57 m high, with a regulation capacity of 250 l/s and a drainage basin of 11 km².

On the edge of the reservoir, precisely on the sides of the ramped weir, a sculpture by Néstor Basterretxea crowns the dam with an abstract style from the Modern movement.
